Recently Pastor Oon demonstrated to me on 3 occasions in leading people into the salvation prayer. There are a few good observations which I have made that would make the process very clear to the person you are leading into the prayer.
He would always start off with telling the person that because they do not know how to pray as pre believers, he would lead them in the salvation prayer while they repeat what he says. Pastor Oon then makes sure he tells the person that while he/ she says the salvation prayer, he/ she must make sure that his/ her heart is towards God and not him (Pastor Oon). However Pastor Oon would tell the person that he will be the human witness of this special moment as he would be listening to the person’s prayer.
In a nut shell
• Ask the person to repeat the salvation prayer after you.
• Tell him to say the prayer with an attitude of telling God in his heart
• Tell him that you will be the witness of his salvation because you hear him.
I believe the above would help to make things clear to the person while he/ she begins to accept the greatest gift of his/ her life.
Having learnt the above, God presented the opportunity for me to lead a friend of mine back into the hands of God. Briefing him exactly what Pastor Oon did.
