Proverbs 3:5-6, “5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct[a] your paths.”
For the past few years, God has blessed me in my career. I was first led to Christ by my manager when I was working at a retail outlet. However due to the nature of my job, I was not able to attend Sunday church services and so I prayed to God to lead me to a job that frees my time. In the meantime, I was interested in a design related job scope despite my low educational qualification and was thinking how I can land myself into one.
It was not long when the company which I was working offered to sponsor me for a full time design diploma course which cost S$10k. I was even more shocked that the company did not ask for any bond and I was actually paid my monthly salary during my study period. Upon returning from my course, I was asked to lead the design department. It was about 6 years when I felt that I was stagnant in my job. I decided to resign and look for a new job.
I cannot believe it was so smooth that I almost found my second job immediately after resigning. However it was not long before I found the new job unsatisfactory for me. While I was contemplating how to approach my boss that I would like to resign after working for a short period of time, my boss actually approached me the next following day and informed me that she is offering me to leave the company with a one month advance salary.
Currently I am in a new job related to design and I am enjoying it. From this experience, I could see how God closes one door and opens another door of opportunity for me and making sure I was never short changed in the process.
