God’s favor upon me helped me pass my driving test

Psalm 5:12, “12 For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as with a shield.”

I am definitely a person with a poor sense of coordination and a poor spatial sense. However, getting a driving license was necessary to share the load of driving. My husband drives extensively during weekend in order to toggle between church, play and family so I felt that I needed to help him.

Through God’s blessing, I got to know a fellow Christian who is a driving instructor. She is patient, gentle and never withholds any tips. As I had been learning driving for a period of time, my husband wanted me to try for the license. My dear instructor was apprehensive knowing my less than ready driving skills. However, she worked with me to ensure I learnt all the necessary skills before the test. Once, while we were driving in the circuit, she pointed out to me a particularly lenient and nice tester. In my heart, I hoped I could get him as my tester when the test day comes.

On the test day itself, during the trial test with my instructor, I fumbled and made mistakes I never did. This really demoralized me. Nevertheless, God was taking care of me. During the actual test I was assigned to one of the easiest routes! I was even more delighted when I saw my tester. He was the same lenient and nice tester my instructor had pointed out in the past! I passed the test eventually although I made a few mistakes during my test.

I believe this is the favor of God upon me and it must be God’s blessing because it would have been really hard for me to find time to learn driving later on due to my schedule. God is truly amazing.
