God uses circumstances to speak to his people

It was one of the Sunday afternoons when I need to send my wife to her tuition lessons in Bukit Panjang. The place where her students stayed was coincidently the same as a classmate of mine. As my wife lessons will take close to 3 hours, I decided to ask if my classmate could give me the permission to use the condominium swimming pools to relax myself, just in case the security asked. We used to swim and study together but have not been able to catch up with each other much due to various commitments. Anyway he was fine with my request as I expected but he also invited me to his house to chill out for a while too. I said ok and we met to catch up with each other before proceeding to the pool to relax together.

I knew my friend has been a Christian for quite some time and has been serving as a leader in one of the big church in Singapore. Having been tasked to lead a group myself, I decided to ask him for some advice as well as to learn about his experience. We talked and talked until I said, “If you don’t serve God, you will feel very dry.” This caught his attention. What I later found out was He is contemplating to change church and his baby has been drawing some of his attention from service. In fact he said that he has been praying to God for someone to speak to him regarding his situation and he told me I could be the one God has sent to minister to him in a manner that he needs to hear from God. I am not sure what we have chatted have helped him but praise God; indeed God has connected us supernaturally. God uses circumstances to speak to his people.

Proverbs 27:17, “17 As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.”
