Isaiah 48:1, “17 Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel: “ I am the LORD your God, Who teaches you to profit, Who leads you by the way you should go...”
When I graduated from ITE (Institute of Technical Education), I started seeking for a job.
The bible says the Holy Spirit in you leads and guides you in the path you should take. When I was offered my first job, I felt burdened in my heart but I took it. I left the company in two months. When the second job was offered to me, I felt the same burden in my heart. This time the feeling was heavier but nonetheless I accepted the job. Within two weeks, I was out of the job again. From my previous experiences, I have decided to be more cautious in making a decision before accepting a job offer. I somehow knew that God was prompting me not to take up the previous two offers but I disobeyed; so this time I want to make sure where God really wants me to work and avoid the pitfalls again. Sometimes, God allow us to take a few knocks in life to lead our focus back to him.
When the third job offer came, there was a tremendous peace in my heart when I plan to take up this offer. It was a peace that my previous two offers did not give me. True enough, I accepted this job offer and God blessed me in this job. I stayed in this job for the next six years gaining invaluable experiences, making great friends and receiving supernatural favor with my boss.
In fact a few years later, I was the first and only person with an ITE certification in the company to be promoted to be a team leader. Knowing that this would be a near impossible job opportunity given Singapore’s meritocratic society, I was very grateful for God’s blessing. He can certainly open up doors of opportunities where no men can close.
